Heading Home

So time to head home to the UK once again... breifly. Then on to K.U. Leuven in Belgium to start a new post for six months. You know what I think I like most about America? In a two and a half hour flight you can go from a snowy New York City to a tropical Miami Beach.

Still, I feel like I've almost 'done' America now: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Austin, New Orleans, Miami, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, Niagara Falls. I think one last trip might be in order -- maybe I'll ride the rails up through new England, then accross to Minneapolis, Chicago, Seattle and Portland. Hmmm...

More Miami

What can I say about my stay in Miami Beach? I swam a lot, drank a lot of cocktails and explored South Beach and North Beach. South Beach is better for bar-hopping and soaking up the crazy Miami excess, but North Beach has a lot of great value restaurants.

I'll be off out in downtown Miami tonight (bus to the main-land) and tomorrow I'm going to check out the Seaquarium.

Miami Beach

It was the coldest day of the year on Miami Beach yesterday, but it was still warm enough to lie on the beach, swim in the ocean and eat outside... who doesn't love Miami?

New York City

So... here I am, travelling again -- it's a hard life! I just finished my contract at Lancaster University and before I head to K.U. Leuven in Belgium I scheduled a few weeks holiday. I am writing this entry at Philadelphia airport after finishing up the New York leg of my trip. I had a great time, seeing the usual touristy sights, catching a live taping of the Daily Show and drinking in down-town and the east village. There were some hairy moments involving a cheese and turkey sandwich at customs, getting trapped in the subway and running through the snow to catch a ferry... but otherwise it was an awesome visit.
